This is an English translation of the Spanish privacy policy. In case of discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.

This policy describes CueRemote, UNQUINTO’s QLab remote for iOS, iPadOS and Android, and support requests related to the app. CueRemote is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad; the Android version is in preparation and not yet published on Google Play.

1. Controller and contact

The controller of the processing of personal data carried out by UNQUINTO in relation to CueRemote is UNQUINTO ESTUDIO EDITORIAL Y SONORO, S.L., Tax ID (NIF) B27688530, with registered address at Calle Sol, n.º 9, puerta D, 40332 Cobos de Fuentidueña, Segovia, Spain («UNQUINTO»).

Privacy contact: contacto@unquinto.es. CueRemote support: developer@unquinto.es.

2. Scope: app, connection and support

CueRemote is free, with no ads, in-app purchases, subscriptions or account of its own. The app includes no analytics or tracking. It does not automatically send UNQUINTO the connection settings, workspace data, passcodes or diagnostics.

This does not mean that no data is processed: CueRemote exchanges information with the Mac chosen by the operator and processes data on the device. In addition, if you write to support, UNQUINTO receives your message and its attachments. Visits to this website are also governed by its general privacy policy and its cookie policy (in Spanish).

3. Communication with QLab and permissions

CueRemote discovers QLab machines via Bonjour or uses the address and port entered by the user. It queries workspaces, lists, cue names and identifiers and their state, and sends the requested control commands to the selected Mac. QLab remains the application that runs the show: CueRemote does not play audio files.

Commands and the passcode are sent directly over OSC/TCP without TLS. UNQUINTO does not act as an intermediary for that traffic. The Mac and QLab may process or log what they receive according to their configuration and their own policies. Use only destinations you are authorised to control and a trusted network; protecting the stored passcode does not encrypt the communication.

iOS and iPadOS may request local network access to discover and communicate with QLab. Android also requests this permission on system versions that require it. You can manage it in the device settings; denying it prevents or limits communication. Entering an IP address manually does not avoid the local network permission. Android also declares Internet and keep-awake permissions for the connection and for using Wi-Fi during the show.

4. Local data and system backups

When remembering a connection, CueRemote may store locally the address and port or the Bonjour service data, the Mac’s name, the workspace’s name and identifier, and the date it was saved. This data is stored as preferences, separately from the passcode. The last connection and other preferences may be included in system backups.

Cue state and connection messages are processed to display the show and diagnose problems. On Android, the Diagnostics screen may show network addresses, machine names and QLab replies. Screenshots or logs you choose to share may contain production information; they should not be considered anonymous by default.

  • iOS and iPadOS: saved passcodes are protected in the Keychain with the ThisDeviceOnly option, without iCloud sync. Earlier local credentials are migrated to that protection when they are read or updated. This protection covers credentials, not all preferences nor OSC traffic.
  • Android: passcodes are stored encrypted with an Android Keystore key. The credentials file is excluded from backups and from device-to-device transfer as configured by the app. This exclusion does not extend to all preferences.

5. Retention and deletion on the device

The last connection is kept until it is replaced or forgotten. Credentials are stored per workspace, and changing connection should not be assumed to delete earlier ones.

On iOS and iPadOS, «Forget this connection» requests deletion of the last connection and its passcode from the Keychain. It acts on that workspace, not on all saved credentials, and does not give a separate confirmation of the Keychain deletion. Uninstalling the app should not be considered equivalent to deleting all its credentials.

On Android, do not rely on «Forget» as a guarantee that the saved passcode is deleted. To delete CueRemote’s local data, you can use Settings → Apps → CueRemote → Storage → Clear data or Clear storage; the name of the setting depends on the device. This removes all local settings and you will need to set up the connection again.

Local deletion does not remove earlier backups or files or screenshots already shared. Preferences may reappear when restoring a system backup. Copies you have sent or stored elsewhere must be managed where they are.

6. Voluntary support communications

The app does not send requests or diagnostics automatically. If you voluntarily contact us by email or another channel, UNQUINTO will process the data included in the message —for example name, email address, content and attachments— to reply, resolve the issue, prevent abuse and keep a reasonable support history.

The legal basis is the performance of the contractual relationship or of measures requested by the user and, where applicable, the legitimate interest in providing and protecting the service. Requests will be kept for as long as necessary to handle and document the issue and will then be deleted or anonymised, unless a legal obligation or the defence of claims requires keeping them for a different period.

Before writing to developer@unquinto.es, review any files, logs and screenshots you want to attach. Do not send passcodes, passwords or unnecessary production data. Also review workspace and cue names, identifiers and network addresses. You can start by giving only the platform, app and system version, QLab version and the steps to reproduce the issue.

7. Providers and recipients

To host this website and manage email, UNQUINTO uses web hosting and email providers contracted for those functions. These providers act under their contracts and, where applicable, as data processors. If there were transfers outside the European Economic Area, an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another valid legal safeguard will apply.

UNQUINTO does not sell personal data. Data received through support will only be disclosed to providers needed to deliver the service, to advisers bound by confidentiality, or to authorities where there is a legal obligation.

This policy does not replace the policies and terms of Apple, Google, QLab or the operating system regarding their own services. Control traffic sent to the Mac and data you choose to send to UNQUINTO through support are separate operations.

8. Rights

Where UNQUINTO processes personal data received through support, you may request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction or portability, and withdraw consent where that is the applicable basis. To exercise these rights, write to contacto@unquinto.es, identifying the request and providing only the information needed to verify it.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or with the competent supervisory authority where you live.

9. Website and updates

Processing carried out by the website itself is described in the general privacy policy and the cookie policy (in Spanish). This CueRemote-specific policy will be updated if its features or the processing described change; the update date will appear on this page.
