Your QLab workspace, at hand.
Check the cues and the state of the show and run QLab’s transport from your phone or tablet. CueRemote is a remote: it does not create, edit or delete cues, and it does not play audio files on its own.
CueRemote is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. It is free, with no in-app purchases, subscriptions, ads or user account. From version 1.1 the app is available in English and Spanish. The QLab passcode is a workspace credential, not a CueRemote account.
Connect, check, operate
- Prepare QLab. Open the workspace in QLab 5 on your Mac and enable its OSC access. The passcode needs View and Control permissions.
- Choose the connection. Put the device and the Mac on a trusted network where they can reach each other. Select the Mac and the workspace, or enter the connection details when needed.
- Check the state. Review the connection, the list and the next GO before operating the transport. QLab remains the system that runs the show.
Cue lists and carts
When you choose a cue list in CueRemote, QLab switches to that list on the Mac, and GO fires the list you see. If someone changes the list on the Mac, CueRemote warns you, and pressing GO switches QLab back to your list before firing. In a cart there is no playhead and no GO: tap a cue to fire it.
One remote, two platforms
The iOS version works on iPhone and iPad. The Android version, for phones and tablets, is being prepared for distribution. No Windows version is announced.
Files, playback and programming stay in QLab, on the Mac. CueRemote does not replace QLab and does not turn your phone into a multichannel player.
Before going live
Rehearse GO, stop, pause/resume, list selection and network loss/recovery with a test show. A state on screen does not replace checking the result in QLab. Keep access to the Mac and an alternative way of operating.
OSC communication must be used on a trusted network. Storing an encrypted credential does not mean the OSC transport is encrypted end to end.
