Connections, editing, and purchases for Escenio 1.1.0 on iOS and 1.2.0 on Android. QLab control is free; QLab 5 Editing and Eos or grandMA3 control are separate purchases. Contact developer@unquinto.es.

1. Connect in read mode before operating

Use a trusted network where device and destination can communicate. Check local-network permissions, IP address, subnet, firewall, and Wi-Fi isolation. Under “New connection,” choose the profile and search for QLab or Eos, or enter the IP. grandMA3 uses manual IP setup.

Sessions start in read mode. Confirm destination, show, and feedback before switching to Control and arming the relevant actions. An active connection does not establish physical reception or execution of every command.

2. Eos setup

Under Setup → System Settings → Show Control → OSC, enable OSC RX and OSC TX. Also allow OSC on the interface through Device → Network or the ECU.

The standard connection uses TCP 3032, a length header, and Packet Length (v1.0). For another profile option, use its specified ports and framing. Over UDP, set OSC UDP TX IP Address to the device IP and configure the matching reply port: without these, Eos may receive without replying.

3. grandMA3 setup and plugin

  1. Open Menu → In & Out → OSC, select the interface, and enable Input/Output and OSC Input/Output in Station Control.
  2. Create an incoming UDP line on 8000, with Receive and Receive Command set to Yes and no prefix.
  3. Create an outgoing line named exactly Escenio, with the device’s Destination IP, UDP 8001, Send and Send Command set to Yes, and no prefix.

If ETCnomad occupies 8000, change the incoming port, for example to 8010, in Escenio too. Go+, Go−, and Pause act on the selected executor’s sequence.

The optional Escenio plugin adds command results, selection, programmer values, patch reading, and executors with active/next cues. With escenio.xml and escenio.lua in the plugin library, import the XML into the Plugins pool, keep the name Escenio, and save the show. It uses the same return line. Without the plugin, control works, but full patch queries and individual command confirmation are unavailable.

4. QLab setup

In QLab 5 → Workspace Settings → Network → OSC Access, tick Allow OSC connections. View permits queries and Control permits playback. Enable Edit for saved changes. Enter the same passcode in Escenio; without a passcode, check No Passcode.

In QLab 4 → Workspace Settings → OSC Controls, enable Use OSC Controls and, if needed, Use Passcode with the matching passcode.

The destination is 53000. Over UDP, keep device port 53001 free; QLab 4 always replies there. The TCP alternative uses 53000 with SLIP.

Choose the workspace and Cue List: GO targets the displayed list. Carts fire individual cues. To use QLab alongside Eos or grandMA3, configure both connections and choose QLab as the companion. Files play on the Mac.

5. Editing audio, video, and light

QLab Editing requires QLab 5, the purchase, a confirmed session, and Control mode to write. Saved changes need Edit permission; live changes need Control. Escenio reads each change back and does not automatically resend an unconfirmed change.

Both platforms support cue editing, audio levels and matrices, video geometry, and light commands. The Dashboard shows the last values sent from Escenio, rather than actual levels read from QLab. Video is a diagram, without a preview.

Android 1.2 adds stage regions, corner/mesh warping, grids, guides, cue crop and blend mode, and coarse/fine adjustment. These additions are absent from iOS 1.1. Mesh size, edge blending, and each region’s output assignment are prepared in QLab.

6. Free features, purchases, and restoration

QLab 5 and 4 include free GO, STOP, PAUSE, RESUME, PANIC, lists, Carts, playhead, timings, and Load to Time. QLab 4 does not support the editor. Eos and grandMA3 connect free in read mode; control is a one-time purchase.

QLab Editing is also a one-time purchase. The Full version includes Eos, grandMA3, and editing; owning both console products separately also grants editing. Earlier purchases are preserved. There is no subscription, and the store displays the price. The purchase does not replace the Mac’s QLab license.

Open the purchase sheet for Restore purchases or Redeem code. Use the account from the same store and access to its services. After redeeming elsewhere, open Escenio to update rights. On Android, check the installation account. Do not repeat a pending purchase.

7. Diagnostics and contact

For missing feedback, check OSC TX/IP in Eos, the Escenio line in grandMA3, and 53001/firewall in QLab. If a large reply does not arrive over UDP, try TCP where the profile supports it.

Open Diagnostics → Copy or Export. Review IP addresses, names, and production data before sharing. Email device, system, version/build, profile, destination version, transport, steps, and exact error to developer@unquinto.es, without passcodes or payment information.

Checked references: ETCnomad 3.3.8, grandMA3 onPC 2.3.2, and QLab 5.6. Rehearse your setup before operating; other versions and networks may behave differently.
